TEHRAN – The Times Higher Education 2022 World University Rankings by Subject has ranked 53 Iranian universities among the best institutions in the world.
The ranking was announced by Times Higher Education (THE) in the results of its 2022 World University Rankings by Subject for Computer Science and Engineering, revealing the best institutions in the world.
The classification of engineering subjects includes general engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical and aerospace engineering, civil engineering, and chemical engineering.
This year, 41 Iranian universities in engineering sciences and 12 universities in computer science earned a place among the 1,188 best universities in the world with the announcement of the THE 2022 ranking.
Some 41 Iranian universities in engineering sciences and 12 in computer science have ranked among the top 1,188 in the world. In engineering sciences, “Sharif University of Technology, University of Tabriz and Babol Noshivani University of Technology” were ranked first through third out of 41 universities in the country.
“Sharif University of Technology, Amirkabir University of Technology, and University of Tehran” were the top three among 12 universities ranked in computer science.
Previously, the Times Higher Education reported the Times World University Rankings 2022, in which 59 Iranian universities were on the list.
The ranking includes over 1,600 universities in 99 countries and territories, making it the largest and most diverse university ranking to date.
The table is based on 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution’s performance in four areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international perspectives.
This year’s ranking analyzed over 108 million citations from over 14.4 million research publications and included responses to surveys from nearly 22,000 academics around the world. Overall, it collected over 430,000 data points from over 2,100 institutions that submitted data.
