The Hawai’i Tourism Authority is resuming its Community Enrichment Program, which supports community projects, festivals and events that enhance resident and visitor experiences and create meaningful economic development opportunities.

The Hawai’i Tourism Authority is partnering with the Hawai’i Visitors and Convention Bureau and Island Chapters to administer the 2022 Community Enrichment Program. The tourism authority has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to provide financial support to qualified nonprofit organizations and projects in 2022, and seeking community proposals.

The Community Enrichment Program is part of the Tourism Authority’s commitment to Malama Ku’u Home (take care of my beloved home) and the community pillar of its 2025 Strategic Plan. No Request for Proposals for this program was issued for 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the availability of funding.

“HTA’s community enrichment program illustrates various ways in which tourism can boost the diversification of our economy, supporting community projects and experiences that are closely linked to other industries and sectors,” said Kalani Ka’anā. ‘anā, brand manager for HTA. “The PEC winners will also be an integral part of the advancement of the destination management action plans of each of the islands. ”

Since 2017, the Hawai’i Tourism Authority has invested more than $ 4.5 million in more than 250 community projects and events, according to the HVCB website.
